Iam a motivational/inspirational speaker and founder of YLS Fitness & Exercise Coaching LLC, as well as a Physical Education Instructor and Lifestyle Fitness Coach who embodies the world of health, wellness, and fitness. I majored in exercise science, receiving an Associate Degree of Arts in physical education at Sinclair Community College where I currently teach as a Physical Education Instructor. I have been instructing and practicing Yoga since 2008 at various sites and locations when requested. Teaching physical education at Sinclair Community College has given me the opportunity to learn and teach Yoga. A Yoga Instructor was needed for the Physical Education Department and I was offered a class. I’m so forever grateful for the opportunity. Now I am highly requested and instruct the majority of the Yoga classes on campus.
Outside of Sinclair Community College, I also worked at Wright State University as a Recreation Fitness Instructor for ten years. There I began my fitness career and completed a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in psychology. Within the past few of years I have connected with Central State University Dayton Campus instructing health and wellness and activity classes.
In my career I have presented on health, wellness, and fitness to various community groups, schools, and corporations. With the desire to implement the practice of Yoga in the community, I have shared my love for Yoga with the children of West Dayton Strong’s afterschool program at Desoto Bass and Hilltop Homes in Dayton, Ohio. I live by positive energy and will continue to share my passion of Yoga through my fitness and exercise coaching.
Your Lifestyle Fitness (YLS) & Exercise Coaching LLC focuses on creating healthy living by promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors and inspiring all to be fit. Incorporating both the mind and body to balance health and wellness is key for YLS Fitness & Exercise Coaching LLC. In addition to Yoga, I assist individuals with making conscious healthy choices that promote healthy living to reach fitness and exercise goals. I address the essential components of fitness: cardiovascular health, muscular strength and endurance, healthy body composition, and flexibility. Services include individual coaching and training, home training, and group training.
As a teacher and practitioner, Yoga to me is a way to internally connect with self and understanding what the body needs in the moment. It is a mind body connection. Yoga is healing, an extension of life. I continue to teach Yoga to share my passion for the practice and to share with others the many benefits it has to offer. My goal is to connect more within the Black community as a resource.
